My penultimate booth had rear filter.  Current design uses the slanted back and up, mostly back.  I don't like the bottom filter.  Seems to me it encourages pulling spray hanging in the air to settle on model.  Upward would be nice, but I like a light in roof of booth, but I think a filter on top would not leave much room for light.

The position of the filter is what is critical, since air is drawn towards the filter.  My penultimate booth had filter on the back, followed by plenum to side fan.  Many bottom filter booths have fans in various places.

exhaust direction for spray booth

I'm working on a design for a spray booth and I am wondering if there is an advantage to which direction the exhaust fan is positioned.  I was planning to use a salvage kitchen exhaust hood located over head (similar to the one in Aaron's videos), but I noticed that a lot of the commercial booths use a slant back with the exhaust pulling sort of back and up. And of course down draft is another option.

I can do pretty much whatever I want since I am building from scratch. What do people think?

I type on a tablet. Please excuse the terseness and the autocorrect. Not to mention the erors.
