Need Help with 1950s army aircraft paint colors

Hi,

I served in an Army Aviation Detachment at Lawson Field, Ft. Benning, GA from 1955-1957 and am about to build 1/48 models on three aircraft that I worked on: L-19 Bird Dog, L-20 Beaver and U1A Otter.  They were all painted solid olive drab and I think I remember that the paint was flat except for the L-19.  Can anyone give me an idea of an approprate Tamiya acrylic paint to use?
