Excuse my ignorance but how would black paint behave differently than black primer? Again, there is only a problem with the finish in a couple of areas.

I do appreciate the feedback, but does anybody have any advice on how to fix this?

Reading the link you provided, he used black paint for blackbasing, not black primer.

Following the technique as outlined at Doog's blog

https://doogsmodels.com/2014/10/09/technique-multi-layer-chipping/amp/

Second primer is for blackbasing. Crazing is only an issue in a couple of places so I think it's due to not letting the chipping medium dry long enough in those spots. The main issue is how to fix it though

Why would you use primer a second time? that may be your problem.

Help! How to fix paint crazing

On my Eduard Hellcat project, I'm trying Doog's multilayer chipping effect, to show chromate as well as bare metal through chipping areas.  So my layers are: stynlrez black primer -> vallejo metal color aluminum -> vallejo chipping medium -> mission models chromate yellow -> future (seals in the first layer of chipping) ->chipping medium -> primer again.  I know that's a lot of layers, but they're all super thin.  First set of chipping went just the way I wanted it to.  Future went on and dried well.  I'm guessing I must not have let the chipping medium dry enough the second time, because I got some crazing in my second layer of primer.  It's only on the areas where I had applied the chipping medium, but not all the areas where I applied it.

Crazing on the cowling panel and leading edge of port wing.  Similar things on bottom cowling and leading edges of both tailplanes.

My question for the board is, how to I deal with this crazing now?  Do I try to sand it down? I assume painting over it would be bad.  Could I use the chipping technique to take off the primer in those areas and try again? I'm at a loss, but don't want to mess up my final paint coat so I want to try the right thing first. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
