yes john, it was cooked up at my workbench about a month into this hobby. i have a friend that is a maintenance man at a local low income housing project and they replace the frig in each apartment after 2 yrs or so. you know how the government is. anyway, i gave him a call one day and the next he had 2 friges sitting on my lawn. so i quickly extracted the motors and converted my Cambell and Hausfield compressor over to a silent compressor. it works great except for the oilly water it pumps through the lines. i have a filter right out of the gate which fills to about half full in about a month and the tank fills with moisture too and then i began noticing an oilly residue in the bottom of the moisture trap coming out of the tank. i started having trouble with my airbrush not spraying correctly and every once in a while a blurt of water would come through the ab when i was just holding the trigger down. i probably have 2 really crappy frig motors though. im sure i could get a better motor and solve my troubles but they are around $120 brand new so i decided to go back to the loud compressor and put it in under carport away from my workbench and family. and, im a happy modeller again. later.
hey, if you can look up murraykish on this forum, he has good advice on a home made frig set up. also, look in the Osprey "how to use an airbrush" book as they explain exactly how to build one. thats where i got the idea. later.
