Testor's Metallizer Sealer

Hoooo boy!  I found out about the lifting off the hard way as well.  I will say one thing about the product though.  It is GREAT STUFF when you apply it as your very last step in your building and finishing process.  I've used it on several of my NMF aircraft and it's turned out perfectly.  Last year I applied it to a Mustang and then I masked it to apply the olive drab anti-glare panel.  That was when I saw how easily the metalizer sealer lifted right off.  Lesson learned.  Apply it last!

I use the rattle can version of the sealer. I agree with Fermis, I always de-stick the Tamiya tape first by sticking it to my oily forehead.  Then I apply  it to my model. Works every time.

I used it in the past...and when I did have peeling with the masking, it also pulled up the Metalizer with it. I have since switched to Minwax clear gloss lacquer(thinned about 50/50 for airbrushing), for ALL my glosscoating, including over Metalizers. With an NMF...I'll gloss/seal, then mask for other colors, using Tamiya tape...but I do de-tack the tape by sticking it to the palm of my hand a couple times...that has almost completely eliminated any peeling issues.
