"The Candy Man".

I never met him, that I remember, but as a friend of yours you have my sympathy for his passing. It's definitely the era of the passing of the old Kustom Kar guys.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Must be very special to have known such a legendary figure in the custom car world. His work was a staple in the "little pages" I consumed as a pre-teen and teen dreaming about my future rides. It is sad to lose another of the post-war icons - they made the automobile a rolling work of art, and their inovations live on today. Everytime I see a multilayer basecoat(s) clearcoat finish on a modern car I'm reminded of Joe. RIP.
