Just off the cuff, the color looks like 10 parts yellow, two parts red and a scant one part black added as you go.

Try this link. It includes RGB and does indeed include mixing. I don't recall the max number of paints for the mix, but it's substantial. The mixing might be only available with the pay version. Quite worth it.

If you feel as I do that this is a valuable product, let them know and also express the need for an Android app.

Just goes to show that there's no such thing as a perfect equivalent match.

Your app has some other features I want to check out. I think it has RGB and CMYK coordinates too. I didn't readily appear to have any sort of "mix this paint with that" alchemy.

GMorrison,

It's an outstanding tool. I used it quite a bit when I had an iPhone. Unfortunately, Android is the operating system on my current phone and imodelkit has yet to make an Android app. Email response from them such an app is not on the horizon.

Phil,

33538 is the FS number I used. The closest match is Model Master acrylic Insignia Yellow. Just finished spraying it. For its intended purpose Insignia Yellow works fine.

Hmm. FS 33275 seems a little ways off.

Gunze Orange Yellow seems to be used for the yellow leading edge ID strip on WW2 Japanese aircraft. IPMS Stockholm lists this as FS 33538

Your app says FS 33275.(late edit- FS not FA. Nice app- thanks).

You can go from there.

Thanks. That was the first place I checked. It's a unique color to Gunze. I also checked other color lists. No help, hence the mix request.

Go to www.paint4models.com. There you can find a match to the color in other paint brands you’re looking for.

Gunze makes an Orange Yellow color. It's enamel code is C58. My preference is to mix the color using acrylics. Swagging it is an option, however there is an app for iPhone called imodelkit that will provide a mix that will come reasonably close to the reference color. Unfortunately, I own an Android phone.

If one of you who uses the app could give a mix, it will be deeply appreciated. My color preferences are Vallejo, Ammo, and Model Master Acryl. Thanks!
