For auto modeling can the Tamiya TS paints in the spray cans be compound polished with the Tamiya polishing compounds?

I ask this because they are laquer paints and go on thin by nature.

I could always compound polish MM enamels after a few coats and had no trouble but I am afraid of going through the paint if I use the Tamiya TS line of paints.
