Painting over enamels

Just wondering if putting a coat of acrylic over a coat of enamel would work. Would like to be able not to strip it if possible. Thanks

Chris,

That should be no problem as long as the enamel is dry.
We put Future on our models all the time and it is acrylic. Wink [;)]

Its no problem.
Infact if you have a model painted with enamels and want to apply a wash in the weathering process, its good idea to use acrylics as they won't damage the enamels.

Why not just use enamel paint to paint over enamel paint? I'm not trying to be silly but rather than trying to apply two radically different paint formulas to coexist with each other why not just use the two compatible paints? Acrylic paints are compatible with acrylic paints and enamel paints like enamel paints.
