I would never spray without thinner. It’s not worth dealing with cleaning up the clog of unthinned paint.
I agree. This is the most important step. Another way I discovered is airbrush in several light coats until you reach your desirable shade of yellow. Worked for me. Good luck...
I hate yellow as well, but had recent success with testors enamel Blue Angles Yellow FS13655 on this, of all things, Simpsons airliner
Thanks,

It needs to be stirred up very completely to get the pigment balanced right to cover.
Thanks everyone. I masked off the top coat of blue from the wing tips. So the yellow went over the gray primer. I'll have to see about "stripping" then repainting with a white base coat for the yellow.
Live and learn; then redo...
Thanks.In HimMr. Dave
Try testots model master yellow enamel. It's the only yellow I can get to work.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Did you paint Blue over the primer, then the yellow over the blue? That combination is really bad. White primer works well, then the yellow, then the blue.
In general, lay down lighter colors first, then the darker ones. Yellow over a very light gray primer can work, yellow over a dark gray primer not so well.

Yeah .... ^ that... White (or even silver primer) works best when doing yellow.
I have not used this brand of yellow, but those i have used, it is best to prime with white. yellow is a hard colour to work with.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I have primed an FA-18 and painted it Blue Angel Blue with MM acrylic. I have primed with gray and painted the wing tips with MM acrylic Blue Angel yellow.
My problem is that the yellow is not covering properly. There is no depth after several coats.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
