Try a nail buffing stick.

As these usually come with 2 or 3 different grades of abrasive, start with the coursest first, and as the scratches become less noticeable, switch to the next finer grade.

It's just like MikeV said, just all on a stick!

I find I can polish the plastic back to a perfect shine using these, and they are way cheaper than the sanding sticks most hobby shops sell.

I don't have a coffe filter at home, would instant work?Big Smile [:D]

It works great. I was sceptical until I tried it, but it does work very well.

Using progressively finer sandpaper will eliminate them.
I usually start with 320 wet and then use 400 wet and then 600 wet if necessary. The primer will hide the small scratches that are not very deep.
Another trick that I learned from someone on this forum is to rub the area with a paper coffee filter after sanding as the fibers in the coffee filter will shine the plastic up real nice.
