Do It Best paint sytem

This device reminds of the waste of money the caned gas airbrush's are, truly a waste of time and money.

If you want an Airbrush, save up a buy a compressor and one of the better quality AB's. In the long run you will be glad you did. You will also have a real equipment and not some cheap waste of money setup that is only good for the rubbish bin.

Watched the video and stopped it a minute or so in. Junk. Pure and simple. More of a pump than aerosol can.

Besides, do you know how many bottles of hobby paint needed to fill it? LOL!

Systems like this have been around for a while. Couldn't swear to it but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing this, or similar, in a hobby shop when I was a kid and I'm 61. I wanted an airbrush more than anything but couldn't have one and thought this might be the answer but, I couldn't have this either. Lol Of course it has its limitations but, like most things, the results rely on the talent of the user. No offense intended. I have seen them used for automotive touch ups and the results were very good. Not spray gun good but, by the time it was rubbed out and polished, it worked. This fellow did the same thing that other folks do with spray cans, found a nozzle that worked well and saved it. Kept it clean and reused it. For modeling, it would be very similar to using spray cans. The advantage being, the ability to mix your own colors or to use something not available in a can. So, for people not wanting or being able to use an airbrush it could be a handy tool.

The Preval system has a been around for a long time.  Basically, it's a spray can where you supply the paint.  The problem is that spray can paint has to be pretty thin to spray properly, and many people wouldn't realize that.  The top part has to be replaced when it runs out of gas, and it costs about $5.  So, there is little advantage over just buying a can of spray paint.  But, they must be useful for some people.

Interesting that the video states that it's for use with "enamel paints and oil based paints". My neighbor was trying to shoot acrylic craft paint through hers, so that may explain part of her problem in getting it to work.

 

Personally, I'll stick with my airbrushes. A lot more control, a lot less paint going to waste, no need for a chemical aerosol propellant, so less overall cost, and I can shoot whatever kind of paint I wish to use.

If you say it looks good, go ahead and spend your money foolishly on a piece of junk. Sometimes you’ve got to learn the hard way. I’m not trying to be harsh but giving you a dose of reality.

 

 

I have no intention of buying it. Personaly I think it would be wasteful for my use. I just found it an intresting concept is why I posted it.

It's ideas, trial and error and sharing of ideas that move this hobby forward.

One of the neighbor ladies bought one of these for her craft projects and had nothing but problems trying to use it. She brought it over to have me look it over because she thought it was broken and wound up borrowing an old Badger 250 spray gun I had laying around in a drawer. Save your cash because it doesn't seem to be worth the effort to get it to perform. 

No propellant, just a pump atomizer.

I don't think it's useful as a model tool. It looks like it would waste a lot of paint internally, among other problems.

Looks like a piece of useless junk.

I just does not appear practical for work in this hobby. Unless the top propellant portion is refillable it offers no real advantage over less expensive rattle can spray paint.
