I have an issue with one of my Paasche VLs.Will not siphon water from the jar but will siphon and spray from the color cup.New #5 aircap needle and nozzle.Passages are clear in the AB body and the hole in the jar is unobstructed.Any ideas?

It sounds like the vacuum crearted by the nozzle is marginal.   One possible cause is a leaky needle seal.  It is adjustable.  The needle should have just a slight drag.

I'm assuming you have checked the tube going down in the jar and it's not pushed tight against the bottom.

Try unscrewing the cap, fill the jar and stick the dip tube in just a little.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

That brings up a problem that I have found lately.  I purchase bottles for my bottom feed Badger, but not the Badger bottles- I found a cheaper third party source.  But, the quality is much poorer.  The latest batch I bought has some jars with the bottom (inside) terribly molded, not level, and depending on how tight you screw on the bottle, it does jam the pickup tube hard against the bottom!  I will be going back to the Badger brand bottles!

Well the cleaning jar has a metal pick up tube so that is not an issue
