Spray vs. Dip for Alclad II Aqua Gloss + Canopies
Posted by KyleBragger on Friday, December 15, 2017 11:50 AM

Wondering if anyone's had success with either spraying or dipping canopies in the new(?) Alclad II Aqua Gloss. I've tested it a bit in the airbrush and it seems to work well (just requires a few light coats) but I'm not convinced it's great for canopies. Dipped and sprayed a test part and it seemed somehow duller than the original plastic.

I don't dip the canopies any more. Now I polish the inside and outside with either Simoniz Swirl Remover or Novus #2. I use an old t shirt and QTips to polish out the canopies to improve the clarity and remove any scratches.

I tried using aqua gloss, but I'm with PJ and polish know as I get a far better result. I tried the Novus stuff but did not get the desired results so use the Tamiya polish which for me works perfectly.
