Sorry Greg I should explain model one I masked over the lifecolor, model two, I decided to seal the paint using pledge then mask. I think I might buy some new masking tape as my existing tape would be a few years old. It may also be not stirring the paint thoroughly as you mentioned. If you shake lifecolor paint containers you get bubbles forming on the surface of the paint which can beproblematic when you decant into your airbrush, so I stir instead. I hope to do some painting next week and try out the above ideas. Fingers crossed!!
Pledge? I am confused. At first I read you thought about using it. Now it sort of sounds as if you did.
Me, I wouldn't dream of trying to mask over that stuff.
If you didn't use the floor wax, I'd think 24 hrs might be adequate for the Lifecolor to dry enough to mask. I found an old article from one of the FSM editors online giving Lifecolor a good review and I think he mentioned masking fairly quickly.
Or maybe the Lifecolor is old and/or not stirred completely? Or maybe your blutac might be old and contaminated (that's a long shot).
Perplexing issue....
