I'm considering upgrading to one of these unitss too; I have a 1/6hp Harbor Freight compressor that I got to relearn with, it runs great but drives me nuts kicking on and off and I got water in the line during the warmer months...I just got another airbrush so going to try mine a few more times but I believe I will upgrade soon! The price makes it hard not to

I would install a QD at the compressor so I could just unplug the hose and brush. No point in leaving them under pressure. I also use a QD at the brush end of the hose so I can swap brushes. Not a big deal at the pressures we use but still, I like to unhook them. I use a 2.5 gallon tank and am not religious about draining it. When it's hot and humid I'll bleed it often.

I have a small 5 gal compressor and I live in Florida.  With the air being dry right now, I purge the tank once a week.  I leave the pressure on at the tank but cut it off to the airbrush.

During the summer with high humidity I will purge every 2-3 days since there is more water in the air.  I have been doing this for years with no issue.  My last compressor lasted 10 years doing this and the motor died, not the tank.  I got a similar compressor and am following the same procedure.

I would bleed the tank.

Just to make sure there is no condensation build up in there.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

I just rec'd a TC-40T compressor from S. Claus - works fantastic.  My only question is after I turn off the compressor when my work is done, should I bleed the tank?  Or it it OK to keep that pressure in the tank - which also means pressure in the hose line and airbrush?  As always, thanks to all who help!
