mig airbrush

It is a Badger Thayer and Chandler Omni 4000. If you look up reviews of that, it is the same.

It does appear to be essentially an Omni 4000, except that the Omni doesn't have a needle limiter in the handle.  If it is, it should be a very nice airbrush.

Your paying for branding not a better airbrush.  Migs products are really just repackaged house hold items and art supplies.  Anything mig sells you can get much cheaper and a lot more of. 

Want chipping fluid, a can of hair spray

Weathering powders, artists chalk pastels

Washes and Oilers, high quality artist oils

The list goes on.  I am sure the airbrush is a good one as it too is a repackaged item but it is not better then other airbrushes of similar quality.

thankyou eveyone for the comments , the reason I asked , is because I have a H&S evolution , and not very happy with it , it just will not stop splattering . I like the idea of the rear limiter , so I was curious , thank's again guy's .

H&S evolutions are notorious for that. I got rid of mine. I have badger now, works great. This airacobra would be a great airbrush for you in replacement. Solid and well designed.

The comments on the Evolution have made me curious.  I've seen many posts by owners who love them.  I haven't used mine much, but I've never seen splatter.  What nozzle size do you have?  H&S sells some pretty small ones.  Do you see splatter with plain water or ink?  The needles are pretty fragile and easy to snag.  Could you have a tiny burr?

The basic geometry of the H&S head seems pretty conventional.  I don't know why it would splatter any more than other brands.

I've used my H&S Silverline Evolution 2 in 1 for over 3 yrs now. It's never splattered. Well, maybe never.....

....I bought the 2 in 1 before concluding that needles smaller than .4mm are for something other than my modeling purposes. (I bought the 2 in1 specifically to do my first mottling job on a german aircraft. That didn't work).

But the .4mm did and it has remained in the a/b, which gets used a lot, since. No splatters.

I love the H&S because it gives me no trouble and it's so easy to strip and clean  ....without tools.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck whatever direction you go.

I have the .2&.4 , needles , paint seems to build up in the nose ring on both sizes , and then let go . Its very  frustrating  . The only way l can use it , is to take the nose ring off , and wind the trigger limiter way in so hardly any paint comes out .  I bought it because off all the good reviews .  I just got a bad one . Seems like l'm not the only one too

Since changing to Badger none of the airbrushes I have from them, Krome, Patriot or Sotar have that problem. I know all airbushes will "spit" on occasion. The badgers do too. The H&S was nearly every session at some point. What works for some doesn't necessarily work for others. Believe me. i wanted the H&S to work for me, it just didn't. Happy the that I found Badger. They work for me.

Well, I can't explain it, but you can't argue with experience.  I don't use acrylics, so maybe that's why I haven't seen the problem.  Also, mine has the .2mm nozzle which I have very little use for.

Since signing on here years back, I've read nothing but great reports about Badger airbrushes. One of these days I'm going to bite the bullet and try one, even though I'm fine with my H&S and Iwata.
