The Eclipse is a higher quality AB than the Neo or Revolution.

I own both the Eclipse CS and the Revolution, the Revo is OK but the Eclipse is so much better.

Toshi, what’s you thoughts on these Iwata? I have 2 Neos and they seem touchy about paints. What’s the word on the Eclipse?

 

I love the NEO so much I bought the TRN1 gravity feed trigger AB.  I don’t have any issues now but at first I needed to learn how to dial in the paints.  It was my first AB.

As for the Eclipse?  An excellent AB!  I’d love to get a Iwata Micron next.  They, Micron can be very expensive but well worth the cost.  I tried a bunch of AB from a art student (My daughters friend) from Kent State and fell in love with Iwata.  I hope this helps.

Well, problem solved!  If you ever are in Bavaria, check out the best airbrush source in Germany at airbrush4you.de in Schweinfurt!  Unfortunately, I would have said best airbrush source, period, but they don’t do mail order anymore, so you gotta come here.  But that had everything I needed.  Picked up a connector for my Paasche model H, so I can start using that again, plus I got this beautiful Harder & Steenbeck Evolution 2-in-1 kit (two different size needle/nozzle combos, 0.2mm and 0.4mm, plus two different sized interchangeable color ups).  Can’t wait to get started with it!

Uh, thanks, but I think you misunderstand. I haven't been using my Paasche H for years now, because of the lack of available connection fittings. I HAVE been using a double-action gravity feed airbrush for the past couple of years, so I'm quite comfortable with that. That was the cheap Sobolee, which was all I could find at local hobby suppliers, which is now unusable. That was why I was asking for feedback on whether or not I should get another Sobolee, or mail order a more expensive brand. I would also like to be able to still use the Paasche, rather than let it sit around gathering dust. But I've since found an airbrush specialty retailer (www.airbrush4you.de) which I'm going to visit tomorrow, which has a wide range of fittings (so I can probably find something to connect the Paasche), and also a very wide range of good airbrushes (full line of Harden & Steenbeck, Badger, etc.).

My recomendation is that you continue using the paasche h you have. You certainly can entertain other companies, but there is usually  a learning curve with a different airbrush so you would be held back. You can use your H right away and get painting now. Good luck.

I’m very happy for you.  Good luck!  I do recommend Iwata brand of airbrushes.  They have the entry level NEO for Iwata of which I personally own.  And or their Iwata Eclipse of which I own as well.  Just my humble opinion.

Well, after much researching I finally found a good airbrush source! They’re two hours away, in Schweinfurt, but it sounds like it will be well worth the drive. They’re strictly an airbrush and airbrushing supply shop, Airbrushes4you.de, and they sell the full lineup of Harden & Steenbeck products, as well as Iwata and Badger, plus some other cheaper lines, as well as a wide range of fittings/connectors, so I should be able to find something to connect my Paasche H model. They also have the full line of Vallejo paints and pigments, so I may have to pick some up, as long as I’m already there. (doing the Happy Dance )

Here in Oregon I've had the greatest success finding fittings, at shops that specialize in hydraulics, compressors, hoses, clamps and other related parts. Generally a shop that services such items for industrial business's, can also be a source for parts.

Pawel, the Sogolee airbrushes are Chinese-made knockoffs of an Iwata airbrush. My Sogolee is the same airbrush as that marketed by Master Airbrush as their G22 model. Probably both made in the same factory, just two different brand names. I have a Paasche and would like to use it, or buy another, but the problem is I can’t find ANY fittings that will fit it to the compressor hoses here. My Paasche model H always served me pretty well. but I sold my compressor before I moved to Germany. Once here, I decided to buy a new one, but none of the fittings fit my airbrush! I’ve been to multiple hobby shops and hardware stores looking for a proper hose coupling to fit my airbrush abd they just don’t have them.

    My 2cents, if your serious about the hobby and really enjoy it save your money and get the more expensive one. If you have no experience with an AB, its a good way to cut your teeth plus learn what a valuable tool it can be. I started with an old single action, can fed, siphon feed, and spent ALOT of money since. My current and last is my IWATA HC. Beautiful tool worth the money IMHO.

Armor - I think you are looking in wrong shops. I don't know what town you're in, but instead of looking in the modelling shop, you should look up the art supply shops - they should have better range of airbrushes (and better brushes, for that matter) than the modelling shop has.

Never heard about those Sogolee airbrushes, I recommend Paasche airbrushes. Or if you want to go cheap, you can buy Iwata ripoff pretty cheap at shops selling nail care products.
