Will Testors Gloss Lacquer Behave like Future?
Posted by MonsterZero on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 1:02 PM

I always have Testors gloss clear lacqer lying around. Can I use it to create a protective coat before applying washes, like we do it with Future application? Will it resist turpentine when dry?

I found that it did not stand up to mineral spirits and ruined my undercoat.I would try to find an acrylic gloss like Alclad Aqua Gloss or Vallejo, they will definitly work.

I seriously doubt it. You can always test it out, but I see disaster ahead.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Use the Future. It will resist the turpentine. This will not.

I use Humbrol Clear.  It gives a great clear gloss coat and stands up to washes very well!  It can be airbrushed or brushed on equally well.
