Money Saving Tip For Iwata & Olympos Micron Owners
Posted by route62 on Saturday, February 24, 2018 2:20 PM

Recently my o ring seal that seals the nozzle head to the body of the airbrush went bad.  Air was feeding back into the cup.

Going online, I found several sources for a factory replacement but the lowest price I could find was $10 plus $4 shipping for a single o ring.  I felt this was excessive.

The part number for the o ring is I-580-2 and is the same o ring for all models of micron airbrushes.  It also works for Olympos Micron 200.   I went to my local Ace Hardware and found an o ring that worked.  It ran .60 cents so I bought 4.

Came home, installed the new o ring and the airbrush is up and running again.  Save a few bucks when this o ring goes bad and you can get several o rings for a fraction of what one costs from Iwata.

Thanks for the tip! I love brand name ABs like Iwata and Paache so I do what I can to support them despite having a few cheap, Chinese knock offs for basic work.

You do get what you pay for but $14 for 1 o-ring is way too much. It can't be justified. I will have to run to my local Ace down the street now and stock up.
