Vallejo vs model master for air brushing

The Vallejo Model Color or Panzer Aces lines must be thinned,I prefer their thinner along with their Flow Improver,even the Model Air may need some thinner.Takes practice to get Vallejo down right.

Model Master acrylic or Enamel ? Their enamel is stellar to spray,but it must be thinned.I never used Model Master acrylic,but heard it too was finnicky

i was trying to use one of the weather kit paints  and it was thick but some of the other colors seem to be less thicker.

what is a ratio to use for the thinning 

I had the same problem with both the regular Vallejo paints and their Air brand which is supposed to be ready for airbrushing.    I thinned and thinned but still had issues ( went from not getting anything out to runs).   The Model Master acrylics can be used straight from the bottle without thinning but I typically thin it some after I have used the bottle 2 or 3 times.  I'm a firm believer in using the manufacturers thinner

I disagree that Model Master can be airbrushed straight out of the jar. I would never attempt to do so. It's best to use Testors Universal Acrylic thiiner when using MM's acrylics. 

Maybe it worked for you but I wouldn't advise it to anyone.

Mission Model brand acrylics is the only one that can be used straight from the bottle, not Model Master.

It also depends on the airbrush. Vallejo Air works fine straight from the bottle through my Badger Krome with the 0.3mm tip. I never had any issues with Vallejo Air. It does take longer to dry than most acrylics but I’m willing to wait in exchange for reducing tip dry and clogging. I also wish all manufacturers used the eyedrop type bottles.

As far as  non airbrush specific paint  I like to thin at 1:1 so I can use at low pressure. 

I prefer the MM enamels over the acrylics, easier to use and thinned 1:1 they flow beautifully and I get no tip dry.

I almost feel as if Vallejo is better for dry brushing or figure painting. Model master is what I’ve used in the past with a paint brush but I’m going to try it again for air brushing
