I'll throw a couple of worthless pennies in. I use mostly Tamiya acrylic, I saw on you tube that several of the builders are thinning at a very high ratio. When I thinned at the usual two parts thinner to three parts paint, I did experience a considerable amount of tip dry. Now I commonly thin at a minimum of 50/50, sometimes 60-80% thinner. Normally use their X-20A, sometimes their lacquer thinner, seldom 91%alcohol.
Usual psi of 12-18, now clogging and tip dry are fairly rare, the old q-tip and lacquer thinner swab every few minutes seems to take care of it. Some of my spray sessions go on for 20 mininutes or more, next to no airbrush malfunctions.
It's worth a try to use higher thinning ratios, to see how it may help you.

Is that confusing or what? I don't even know what's going on.
Well truth-be-told - we can’t even fly to the damn Moon anymore.
Thanks,

Funny, I never had issues airbrushing MM acrylics longer than 20 seconds. Maybe the weather/humidity? Unless they changed the properties/chemicals in their acrylic lines. I don't know.
GMorrison I have no trouble with enamels. I do pretty well with Tamiya, IF you use the X20. I have given up completely on MM Acryl.

I haven’t given up on MM Acryls, but they are a last choice. And bigtime agreement on enamels and Tamiya with their thinner
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
stikpusher It’s probably acrylic paint.
It’s probably acrylic paint.
That's funny. I was thinking the exact same thing.
...split the atom, nearly cure cancer, build canals through entire countries, but...
we can't build an airbrush that sprays consistently for longer than 20 seconds.
