Has anyone tried airbrushing DecoArt crafters acrylic?
I got one at a dollar store because it is the closest match to an unusual blue
that I have been looking for.

I haven't used that particular brand, but I have used a few other craft paints - Apple Barrel "Plaid", FolkArt, and Delta Ceramcoat. Thinned properly - I use wiper fluid, it has worked really well for me. They're all fairly thick out of the bottle - much more so than the typical model paint. All of these dry to a very flat finish, so if you want shiny, they you'll need to put on some sort of clear coat.

I've even thinned artists tube paints with good success.
