Hey all, hope all is well.
Last week I took the plunge and bought myself a new Harder and Steenbeck Infinity CR Plus with with the 0.2 and 0.4 nozzle sets. The only problem is I feel that I might be having issues with this airbrush.
I've been airbrushing models for around 8 years and prior to me picking up the Infinity I exclusively used a HP-C Plus for 8 years which I was very happy with until the front end got a bad dent by dropping it on a stone floor. I decided to swap over to a different brand for a change.
Now that I am using the Infinity I feel that the trigger is way too loose, I adjusted the trigger tension for the air to the point where I am happy but the action for paint feels really loose, I've ruined a couple of projects by pulling the trigger a hair more than I meant to which completely covered the area in paint. It feels as if the needle is too loose if that makes sense? If I'm not careful the airbrush will completely blast out paint regardless of the PSI I am using, I've tried lowering my PSI to around 10 and it makes little difference. I can get very fine lines but the margin between a fine line and full on blast feels like a hairs width.
Also sometimes I'll start a movement with just air as usual but paint will come out with it, which again has runined my project by spattering paint when I dont intend to. This is happening with both nozzles.
Does anyone have any idea? Are the triggers on H&S brushes really this loose and senstive or is it an issue on my end? Am I missing something here? I've only had it for week, hoping I haven't damaged anything already.
