Unless the pigments are stained I'd strain the paint into another container, clean the bottle and strain the paint back into the bottle. White and light colors would be most likely to show rust staining. Paint strainers are cheap.

Rust in paints

I recently received  3 sets of Vallejo model air sets from a friend. He has stopped building due to having another child and not having time. He had added a little washer to be used as an agitator in the bottles and apparently they weren’t stainless steel as you can see spots of rust in the bottle. I removed the washers with a telescopic magnet but haven’t tried using the paints yet. Do you think it’s worth it to keep it or should I just toss them out. Thanks for any feed back.
