Greg I'm sure it would I also use mine to run a finish nailer, stapler and even my big frame nailer at 75psi. I've even run my air hammer with no problems at 100psi and it keeps right up. So far along with being used on almost every model i have built I've also used it to build my front porch, rear deck all the floors in my house along with the wood work. Used it with the stapler after tearing down all the plaster and putting up around forty rolls of insulation. I have also used it in the building of two barns. Come to think of it, this compressor is probably the best tool buy I have ever made in both this hobby and construction.

Thanks for the rundown on the compressor, neighbor. Much appreciated.

I want that. What's the model?

the one I have is about 6 years old and is model 1610A. It is now discontinued the newer model 2010a is even better at the same price.

I am interested too, thanks for posting the link, Clint.

At 1 HP, do you think it could handle a fan-pattern mini spray gun if I ever decide to lose my mind and get one?

Sounds very interesting.

Being in the UK, I would have to take account of shipping, import and sales taxes etc.

I'm leaning towards this:

Now that looks good.

Have to be this one in Australia,

These are a good unit for one ab, quiet and cheap:

if money is no problem have a look at Jun-air or dental compressors which do use a fridge compressor and are just as quiet as your fridge, interested in a look at this California model as well not that it will be available here in Oz.

I use a California air tools compressor it has a all aluminum tank so no worry about rust. It's also super quite it's almost like a compressor for a refrigerator but can run at 100psi constant.

So, a prime consideration with a multi-use compressor is noise. Most of my modeling is done at night, and I have neighbors, so I like a quiet compressor.

You can buy various sorts of compressor configurations that feed an airbrush only or otherrs that have more utility but can feed an airbrush, costing $59-$359. What are your requirements ? I suggest one with a tank.

It might be that the tank has a leak from rusting internally. It's a good idea to blow those out whenever you can.

If that's the case, toss it.

Might try slopping on a mix of 1:1 water:liquid detergent, then fire up the compressor.

If you are lucky, your leak will blow bubbles and at least you'll know where it is.

More Compressor issues!

Recently I have noticed that my compressor has been behaving "normally" and not cutting off when the pressure reaches the set limits and coming back on when it gets low. It has been running constantly. A couple of days ago I noticed a very faint hissing noise from the compressor and thought that the issues was that I needed to take off the regulator and air hose and put some fresh PTFE tape around the threads, which was duly done.

Last night The hissing was more audible and I could watch the full tank and regulator needle empty and drop accordingly while not even using the airbrush so I tracked down the hissing to the pipe from the storage cylinder to the compressor unit and undid it and put PTFE tape around that thinking something was odd as these had rubber seals on them which showed no wear or breaking down. On running the compressor again The sound was still there and more noticeable and so I investigated a little more and I think that the compressor cylinder piston or something associated blown a seal or something along those lines.

So, I think a new compressor is needed as a repair is probably out of the question or too expensive and I will be able to buy one this coming Thursday.
