Neo for Iwata

I use a neo and mm, tamiya, and some Vallejo. I thin at least 100% on all.  Never a problem with drying or clogs . Regular Vallejo about 150%. 

I've never sprayed Vallejo Model Color but from the videos I've watched of those who do they use the Vallejo airbrush thinner. I have not seen where they have used the flow improver in it. I can tell you outright I would use retarder though because it goes in all of my acrylic paints. A little retarder goes a long ways towards all but stopping tip dry with most acrylics.

In another forum I saw where a guy said he used Liquitex Airbrush Medium in Model Color paint ( that's Liquitex's version of thinner, it has acrylic medium in it so you can use all you want and not lose adhesive quality, might even gain some). Good to know because it works in many acrylics but not all. I think he used that and a little water and was liking it.... But I'm saying everything above from second hand experience lol ( except the retarder comment, that's a given for me).

After spraying Vallejo, what airbrush cleaner(s) are you using?

Also, are you using Vallejo Model Air, Vallejo Model Color, or one of the others?

You stated you are not using Vallejo Model Air, sorry about that. My question above stands, plus what are you thinning the Vallejo (Model Color, I'm guessing) with? It is important.

Oh right, guess that’s s pretty important detail lol. Tamiya acrylic for the most part. But it’s the Vallejo acrylics (not the air version) that are giving me a hard time. As they begin to dry, they seem to take on a bit of a latex like quality to them and I think that’s whats getting stuck.

 

From what I‘ve read though, it seems a lot of people who have the NEO end up just wishing they sprung for a higher quality brush. 

 

 

 I have about as cheap an airbrush as you can get and I never have to do what you are doing and I typically only need to do thorough break down cleanings in between builds.

I do spray only Tamiya acrylics though, haven't tried Vallejo. The acrylics will dry up on the needle from time to time but that just takes a quick clean of the tip.

I would venture to say it's the non airbrush vallejo paints you are using since that's the only time you have trouble and it is not anything I'm familiar with.
