Jeff Hearne is the brains and brawn behind Scale Colors. Some of you may know him from his articles and activity on social media. Good guy. I haven't tried them since I'm vested in Vallejo at the moment. I'm waiting to see more feedback.

Who’s selling them? Sprue Brothers? Squadron? MegaHobby? Is there a link to buy them?

I have not seen them on any of the major distributor sites, but he seems to be selling through his own site. www.scalecolors.com. Fast shipping too, i got my order in 3 days, so thats nice i guess.

So, a small update as to my original post. They are acrylic, but seem to be alcohol based, not water, which means they dry FAST and lay down flat which i love. they spray beautifully. Ive been able to spray an entire 1/32 Hasegawa P47 and only used about 1/3rd of the bottle, it covers that good. I play around with the mix, and thin it out a little more than bottlestock, but it seems to spray right at the 20psi sweet spot. So long as he keeps releasing new colors, ill probably be using more of these. Going to order some of the pigments soon as well. more updates to come.

Yes, interested to hear how they work for you. I just received some AK Real Color Lacquers I had ordered. Thought I would give them a try.

"Hard polymer acrylic" according to the site.  Bottles are 1 oz and look just like Alclad bottles.  Says the pigments are from the Warpig line.

Most everything is $4.99 a bottle....says AB ready from the bottle.

Going to put in a small order next week to give it a try.

New Paint Brand - Scale Colors? Anyone ever tried them?

Hello all,

Here recently on some FB groups I've come into contact with a new US based paint company called "Scale Colors". Seems to be a small operation, but they have 1:1 Color matched USN and IJN colors, some Aircraft colors, pigments, etc, and it looks like new stuff coming. I picked up their OD and Neutral Grey as a tester, and i gotta say, its pretty good stuff. no odor, so i dont get yelled at by the wife, colors are dead on, and they spray almost like MRP, with really good pigmentation and super even drying. Just my experience with these two colors though. Has anyone else tried any of their other products?
