Mission Models Color Matching
Posted by laskdjn on Monday, May 13, 2019 12:18 PM

Hey everyone,

Having finally completed my move and getting back into building, I started on Revell's A-10, I wanted to do the forest camo pattern.

Before my move, I made the transition to mission models paint.   In looking up their color chart, I realized that they offer neither 34092 dark green  nor 36081 Europe I dark gray.

I'd like to stick with mission models and was wondering which of their colors are close matches to those listed above.

Thanks in advance.

Their RLM 66 Gray might be a reasonable substitute for Euro I Gray 36081. At least looking at their online color chips. For the 34092 Green, there does not look to be anything close. Try your next favorite paint line. If they do not make Green FS 34092, try looking for Medium Green 42 or ANA 612, the WWII names for the color.

I think LifeColor acrylic line might have FS 34092 that you’re looking for.

That's tragic.   Mission models is by far my favorite paint to spray.

One thing I noticed, though.   In the Europe I scheme on the F-4, 34079 is called out instead of 34092, I think I might go that direction

Tragic? LOL! Just wait and see. They’ll introduce new colors again.

on the F-4 Europe I, the gray was simply a repaint over the tan 30219 of the wraparound SEA scheme. Whereas the A-10 was a new production aircraft that never wore the SEA colors. The initial production 1970’s  scheme was MASK A-10A, and the Europe I scheme came later on.
