Just picked mine up yesterday but I have not had the chance to use it yet, I was lucky I was able to take the time to go get it, spring is interfering with my modelling fun. The brush looks and feels great.

We don't have HL locally but I use Micheals coupons all the time and specifically in the paint department. 40 or 50% off I'll take anytime and it's Micheals program so why not take advantage of it ? Silly not to. Liquitex varnish is $18 a bottle, $9 with a 50% off coupon and I like the satin for modeling, plus we use satin anf gloss for my wifes ceramics.. Those coupons are always for single items that aren't already discounted but for the whole purchase I'm always getting 20% off in my email.

There's really nothing wrong with that,they don't frown on that,just whether or not you want to bother.I would even go to the same cashier if the savings was big enough.

I was sort of tongue-in-cheek when I typed "Of course I'd never do that." I should have added an emoji of some sort, my bad.

I don't like retail coupons, pay to save memberships, loyalty discounts, etc either.......but when in Rome........

Just FYI, the coupon works for one item per purchase. The cashier will apply it to your most expensive item without asking.

Folks have been known to leave the store, come back in, buy another item and visit another cashier. I'd never do that, of course.

Yeah that's not me either and chances are good I won't even bother with the coupon. I've never been a coupon guy and the price on the parts are minimal in my book.

Thanks I'm aware of the coupon and it's not an issue. Another reason I chose to go with Iwata is I can actually go to a store and examine it before I buy it. If the coupon still works for parts perhaps I'll print one out and buy a few spare parts while I'm there.

Just beware the 40% deal is no longer valid on Iwata AB's.  Don't know about the rest of the AB lines they have.  Apparently still good on parts though.

Thanks and now I just gotta get myself to Hobby Lobby. Another reason I'm choosing Iwata, I can walk into Hobby Lobby and pick it up as well as some parts. Makes it much more convenient for me.

The answer is yes with properly thinned paint. As you lower pressure you must also incrementally thin paint. Should work to 10 or so psi and very tight and close with say alclad thin paints. You need to have it in your hands and play with thinning and pressures for a while but I'm sure with practice you will find the sweet spot for low pressure painting

 

That's the answer, thanks and yes I will play with it a lot before using it for work. I'm quite aware of the thinning process since I've been using a chinese cheapy to start. But, it has been a great learning tool and now I feel compfortable putting out more bucks for a quality tool.
