You're gonna need a compressor in case you hadn't though of that. But if not then that fact could play into your choice of airbrushes. And fwiw, just starting out, any of those can out perform your capability at this point anyway. Both brands have parts available etc.

Older model guy is spot on, you will need to acquire more than an airbrush to set up well, but maybe you have already thought of that. Don's Airbrush Website is the best reference around for learning about airbrush info, from very basic to advanced. Highly recommended, time very well spent.

Both Iwata and Badger are really capable of excellent performance, Badger prices are very affordable at USA Airbrush, I've been quite happy dealing with them. Since you are just starting out, best to keep your costs down by checking out which type would suit your needs, at the lowest price point. I have several brands, but my most used is either the 105, or the 100LG, both from Badger. Both well under US $100

Good luck with your search.

Now I have  only had it for two weeks but the my iwata revolution is a very nice airbrush (and not because my family got it for me).  It has fantastic seal, no air leaks and extra sealing needed, and has a very nice all metal outside so it can take a fall. ( not like that ever happened ;)  The only problem with is that the lid pretty tight but my father's one doesn't seem to have this problem, so probably just my but be warned.  Also, spare parts look pretty cheap so if you can't buy a new one, you can at least fix it for cheap.  Hope this helps you with your choice.

P.S. I found a lot of help and information going to Don's airbrush site.

I'm very happy with my Eclipse  I just picked up last month. The trigger is so light and smooth I hardly know I'm even pressing it. Very easy to clean and well worth the money. Good luck on your decision.

I like my Patriot. It's tough as heck and very easy to hold.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I got the green light from the supreme leader for my first, and only, airbrush. Knowing I can only have one and will likely never get another go I’m being choosy. I have it down to the Badger 105 and the Iwata Revolution. I might be able to stretch for the Iwata Eclipse. Knowing this I am reaching out for advice. I hear the Revolution is a better all around than the Eclipse?  Suggestions?  I plan to only do space models
