The fan cap is about $10-$12 depending where you get it from. Amazon has them fwiw. You will need the medium nozzle/needle set ( .66). But you should be able to get out to 1-1/2" or so with the standard .66 setup. Proper thinning, distance and pressure should get you into that ball park. Then you keep your circle pattern. The way the fan cap works is it narrows the width but lengthens the height of the pattern, so it's narrower and taller, one could say slightly oval vs round. It works the same as most 1/1 guns do. Nice concept but not all modelers get along with it.
The fan cap will do 3" to3-1/2 " passes in the right hands. If you shoot in closer it will be more like 2". Nice for 1/12 and 1/8th scale automotive models, big ship hulls etc. Course one is free to say that's my opinion lol.
