Put a thin film of bees wax or chapstick ( someone mentioned the chapstick already), even butchers wax will work, on the taper before assembling. Or assembling your aitbrush with glycerin as a lube can help a lot of things.
Thanks guys.. the hairdryer and a little side pressure popped it loose. I always give a good cleaning after each use but apparently a little residue got between the tip and socket.
GMorrison Pinch it with your fingers and gently wiggle back and forth. It's a conical force fit. By bending it left/right that will rock it outwards. Clean it more thoroughly.

For really stubborn dried residue, I pre-soak the parts in acetone, (finger nail polish remover,) it's about the most aggressive cleaner I've found. A tiny bit of chap stick, or similar, applied to parts during assembly can be very helpful for preventing them from getting stuck.
If you haven't already, a visit to "Don's Airbrush" website can be very helpful for finding information about this very subject. Well worth the time.
Hope you get it sorted OK.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Try some Testors Universal Acrylic Airbrush Cleaner. Put a few drops on the tip area and just let it soak. That stuff will remove just about any dried paint, acrylic or enamel, given enough time to sit on the area.

Yep sometimes heat, sometime packing it in ice.
You could try heating it with a hair dryer. Sometimes the heating and cooling will give a kick to help loosen things up.

Any tips on removing a stuck tip? airbrush hasn’t been used in about 6 months and apparently some dried paint has it stuck. I got the needle out fine but the tip won’t budge. I’ve tried soaking in lacquer thinner but nothing so far. I really don’t want to damage it.
