Hi everyone

Thanks for your input and suggestions. Seems like Humbrol is here to stay!

If you are using enamels it seems that there is not much alternative so go for it!

Aside from Humbrol, the other enamel paint line alternatives that I can think of are also from that part of the world: Xtracolor and Revell. I do know that Tamiya makes a line of enamels now, but I’ve never seen them in person, nor used them. I do have some Xtracolor and Revell enamels in my paints.

I wrote to rustoleum a few months ago here is their response:

Hello Ian,

Thank you for contacting Rust-Oleum Product Support.

Many of the Model Masters colors have been discontinued due to low volume sales and request from the market place. The product line is still available but the color options are becoming more limited especially in the 1/2 oz bottles. The spray cans are easier to find with Hobby Lobby and also Hobbylinc.com.

Thank you for your interest in Rustoleum products. We hope this information was helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact us if any additional assistance is needed.

Regards,

I've heard those rumors for several years now.  When Testors began dropping some of their colors, I began to believe the rumors.  But it looks like Testors has offered new series of paints.  It seems like they have dropped mostly some of their military colors in favor of more general purpose colors.

Not heard anything this side of the pond. Same goes for the other main enamels here, Colorcoats and Xtracolor.

Hello

This is not a question regarding Humbrol vs Testors, but solely regarding if anyone heard anything that Humbrol Enamels will go out of production just like Testors Enamels or something similar? Since I can't get some of Testor Enamels anywhere I decided to go with Humbrol (most of my pending models are Airfix anyway).

Just don't want to stock on something that will go out of production Hmm

Any input highly appreciated and thanks in advance

Neither of the shops that I frequent and carry the line has mentioned any sort of thing. And their website shows not such announcements either. As a matter of fact, they hvave recently introduced new colors and brought back a few discontinued ones as well. That sure does not indicate any sort of shut down to me.
