Aztek A470 airbrush acrylic nozzles
Posted by sgtmick64 on Thursday, November 7, 2019 6:15 PM

I recently came across a Aztek A470 airbrush with 3 nozzles. The packaging for the nozzles state they are for acrylic paint. Can I use these with model master enamels also?

Yep no problem.

Probably find the grey nozzle will be your go to for everything.

Mick.

Some stuff that might be interesting.

I wouldn't endorse the "no problem" part, myself.

It doesn't matter so much what the type of paint is, but the Aztek isn't as reliable as a good double action airbrush from Paasche, Badger or Iwata, and they all cost about the same.

The Aztek has a design flaw. The needle return spring is in the tip and therefore in the paint path. They gum up pretty quickly with acrylics.

By all means try it and see, but in my own experience I had a lot more confidence and therefore success when I put my Aztek aside and started using my Patriot.

I gave my Aztec away.  Had okay success, just didnt like the feel/controls.  Very cool presentation though. [EDIT] BTW I believe I only sprayed enamels with it.

Thanks,

John
