Last year I finally used up a bottle of Future I have had since 1983 and promptly went out an bought a new bottle of the stuff. I did find out as soon as I opened the bottle that the new bottle of Future was a slightly different formula. Somewhere in those years (decades) the Johnson & Johnson company added...LEMON SCENT? I was relieved to find out the new Future still worked the same.

My last bottle is about ten years old, and it is definitely less clear. I'd hesitate to call it yellow - more like slightly murky. The models that I used it on don't seem to be affected. I bought a new bottle to celebrate finishing an Airmodel vacuform AJ Savage, a project that's been lingering for almost 20 years.

As long as you keep the bottle tightly sealed it will last a long time, which is good because a bottle of Future will last for a lot of models.

QUOTE: 20 yrs old????
Shouldn't you rename the bottle "Past"Approve [^]

Perhaps ... "Days Of Future Past" (If you don't remember the Moody Blues you wouldn't understand Big Smile [:D])

I'm amazed it would last that long to. I guess as long as it doesn't dry up or turn yellow there really isn't much to go bad.

Does Future have a shelf-life?
Posted by MikeV on Friday, April 9, 2004 1:56 PM
I was wondering if Future has a shelf-life like paints do?
The bottle of Future I have is at least 5-6 years old and I was wondering if it is still fine to use it? I am assuming that time has no effect on this product, correct?

Thanks

Mike
