With enamels, it’s not a problem to mix different brands. With acrylics, you should experiment in a safe container and test out first. I have mixed different brands of acrylics in the past, but never Tamiya with Vallejo, so I can’t say if it will or won’t work.

Depends what you mean by mix. Are you looking to mix into one another or mix brands in terms of over coating one over the other ? Mixing together for say tinting, Tamiya will not go into Vallejo or vise versa. Over coating is another matter all together. I spray lacquer over acrylic pretty regularly actually. So explain just what it is you are doing.
Srpuln10Mixing the two together in a bottle. I know that I can paint over one another. But I don't know if I could mix the two together.
Tamiya & Vallejo, No, entirely different paint chemistries
vallejo model air and model color, easy-peasy. Vallejo & Reaper do it often. Vallejo and Citadel should work, never tried it. Vallejo & AK, ditto
Tamiya is a unique acrylic enamel which thins with alcohol, lacquer thinner. Wash Up before hardened with water.
Most Vallejo-type acrylics thin with a water/ammonia solvent. Alcohol gums them up.
I can tell you from experience, those two brands won't work together. Though they both are labelled as acrylics, this only refers to the type of binder being used. Paints are composed of these four properties:
Pigment – this is the colour of the paint. Binder – this helps provide good adhesion and holds pigment particles. Additive – an additive modifies the property of paint, either water or oil based. Solvent – the solvent is the medium that disperses the pigment, binder and additive
It's likely the respective additive and/or solvent used in Vallejo and Tamiya that make them incompatible for mixing. The fact that Tamiya's bottle have a warning flame label should bring to attention something is 'hot' inside.

Do not mix them! They will turn into a glob! Vallejo reacts badly with alcohol like Tamiya thinner or their paints. It has happened to me.
