Tamiya Acrylic Drying Time / Masking
Posted by Skycraft on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 4:54 PM

Hey guys,

New to airbrushing. I am using the Tamiya Acrylics, seems to be working well. I have read about drying times for the paint, 24-48 hours ish. I have painted a model with three coats. Its been three days and paint seems cured. I went to mask the model off to put racing stripes on before clear coat and the tape has left its mark on the paint. I was using Tamiya Curves White tape. Should I be putting coat of clear coat before masking off model before painting the racing stripes and then put clear over top? I have watched videos where they mask it off right on the paint but I am not so sure that will work. Any advice would help.
