Lexan is pretty easy to paint. I have never had any luck painting that flexible vinyl and tried many different primers.

Once upon a time I used to paint those Airfix soft plastic soldier figures with enamel paints. But yes, parts that flexed like hands or weapons would chip off the paint...

Bandais rubber doesn't like paint at all. Most things I've tried on it will crack and fall off. You may struggle.
Ah so there IS a figures forums. Sorry I missed it. Thanks for the directions. Mod can delete this post for cleanup. Will repost in proper forum.
I'd post in the figures forum. Those folks have a lot of experience with all sorts of weird plastic, rubber, vinyl. The very little of that I've done, I( used war game figure paint, think it was for war Hammer figures.

I just had a quick question about what types of paints to use on flexable bendable plastics. I got inspired by the The Mandalorian and am making a 1/6 scale kitbash of my own self inspired Mandalorian warrior. I am going to use pre-molded armor from a 1/6 Jango Fett 2002 hasbro spare set. The plastic is soft and flexable and I was wondering what options I had to use for painting it so it wont crack or chip. Will acrylics work fine ( Vallejo)? Do I need to prime? Should I varnish/clear coat in satin after painting? Is there a good chrome paint that is flexable?
I live in an apartment, so no airbrush or compressor. Strictly rattle cans and brushes (filters, weatherong powders/oils, etc).
Any help appreciated.
