Vallejo wash over Tamiya Spray Paint
Posted by Twometer on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 1:11 PM

Hello!I am new here and tried a search for my question, but I think my search had too many words and I did not see a post that helped with my problem. I have been a plastic modeler since the sixties, both aircraft and armor and got my first Paasche airbrush in 1970.  I also build giant scale RC aircraft as well as model railroads. I am assembling several plastic structure kits for a model railroad. I recently purchased my first selection of Vallejo ready to spray colors along with some of their washes. I used the Vallejo colors to shoot the base color on and then used Vallejo washes over them with perfect results. On one of the kits I had some Tamiya Spary paint that I decided to use for the convenience and the size oif the structure, rather than use my airbrush. Then when I applied the Vallejo wash over it, it would not flow, it only beaded up. Is there something I can add to the Vallejo wash to let it flow or a clear spray I can shoot over the Tamiya spray paint that will let the Vallejo wash flow? I believe the Tamiya spray is a synthetic laquer which I guess is not compatable with an acryllic water based wash. GThanksin advance for any help!
