I've had an Iwata HP-BC2 for well over 20 years using it for everything imaginable. This past year is the first time I'm using it on models and I couldn't be happier. I use Tamiya acrylics, thin with iso (usually right in the cup). After I flush 50-50 mix iso/water pulling the action back and forth aiming into the side of a plastic bowl. I drop the color cup in bowl pull the needle out, wipe it , put it back in, blast some straight water through. Back the needle away from the seat, close up the sleeve and into the box. I may be doing something wrong, I have never owned a different brush, but it works for me...
By the way, it's the original needle, hose and compressor all from way back. I just added a reg and larger moisture trap recently. Love it.

Congrats you've just bought one of the best airbrushes in the world!
I have a Iwata eclipse bs and the only thing i do is clean it regulary. I also recomend you to buy superlube, i´t' a special lubricant, badger also has one but i don't know the exact name.I put it on the needle always after cleaning it. It will make cleaning much easier and extend the life of your needle.

I just recieved my new Iwata Eclipse hp-cs yesterday. This is for Iwata owners, but is there anything I should know about the eclipse or Iwata airbrushes in general? Is there any secrets that youve figured out overtime or any tips from long time users would be nice. I just would like to know how to use an iwata from an experienced person that might have some tips, tricks or secrets that clean it better or something like that. Thanks.
