AK Interactive's New 3rd Generation Acrylics
Posted by pilotjohn on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 7:43 PM

Hi All;

Anybody used these yet?  I was curious as to their claim about "solving" the acrylic tip drying problems.  This is from their advertising materials:

NO CLOGGING
Are you tired of experiencing clogging in the airbrush with acrylic paints, having cuts in the stroke or getting sandy paint? One of the advantages of the third generation formula is that we have solved these problems and improved the performance.

Thanks.

I don't know if they are 3rd gen or not, nothing on the box of bottle says 3rd.  IJN set of AK Air, I got about 3 months ago.

Just shot some, got a little on the inside of the air cap and nozzle tip around the needle (both are outside of the AB body).  Cleaned up with a quick wipe of acrylic cleaner.  As far as how it laid out, great.  I added about 3-4% AK thinner just because.

The 3rd Generation ones have a new bottle.  Here is a link to a site that sells them:

There seems to be some concern that they have changed the formula, so I was curious what folks here might have seen.  AK has a bit of a history with that from what I have seen with some reviews.  Most of the reviews are from the intial release.
