Best covering Gloss White???

Gloss white is one of the hardest colors to paint. To get a good closs white finish it is more important working on the finish than getting the right gloss white paint. Using flat white and then polishing it and overcoating with clear gloss will give you a excellent gloss white finish.

If you want to just use gloss white paint then here is my procedure. Prime it first. Then paint a layer of really thin gloss white. Let dry making sure you cover it so dust don't get on it. After it is dry, use real fine web and dry sandpaper to smooth out imperfection. repeat step again until you have a good coverage. (maybe 3 layers will do). After you have done this then for the last layer spray a final layer of gloss white that is not so heavily thinned. This will be your final goat. You can polish this for a nice shine. I use lacquer thinner to speed up drying so you can get several layers done in one day.

For me it's also a flat white, but I use Floquil Reefer White which is a model railroad paint. I've tried just about every flat & gloss white available, but the Floquil is the most opaque and best covering in my experience. It can be rubbed out with something like an old tee shirt or lightly sanded with a very fine micromesh pad to smooth it some & then a coat of Future or other gloss medium of your choice.

I agree with the flat white idea. I use Krylon white primer for all my "white" coat needs, but instead of using future or a clear coat to give me a gloss finish, i simply polish the primer. Using a polishing kit up to 12k grit i can get a perfect gloss out of the primer without any need to clear coat it. Takes a bit of work though

Yeah, the best gloss white is flat white followed with a coat of Future !!!
I'm not kidding, mate.
The flat white has superior covering ability, sticks better to corners and edges, and you can apply far less paint to achieve the same degree of opacity than you can with gloss paints.
