Testors Glosscoat spray laquer?

I always keep a can of both Glosscoat and Dullcoat on hand.  Love the stuff.  Why bother loading up the airbrush, and then cleaning it, when I can just use the cans.

A little tip. Using the dullcoat over chrome plated parts makes them look like aluminum.  Great for mag or aluminum wheels.

I used to use those cans...I found that I'd have to try to mist coat, lightly (as lightly as possible with a spray bomb) coat the whole thing a couple times, then do a heavier coat. Too much, too soon made a mess out of the enamels I sprayed over. It is just lacquer gloss...I bought a quart of lacquer gloss at the hardware store...thin with hardware store lacquer thinner(for airbrushing). Does the job just the same, at a fraction of the price.

Thanks for the info. You have pretty well hit the nail on the head for what I was interested in. My supply of glosscoat was getting low, and my LHS didn't have any. In looking for it online I found a "4-pack" of the cans at a price that seemed reasonable, but before ordering it I wanted some input. Thanks again for the help!

 

If you have a Michaels or Hobby Lobby craft store near you, they carry it.

I use them from time to time .

The 4 pack does bring the cost per can down, worth while if you use that much of the stuff .

I don't use them a lot, but like Don I always have a can of both on the shelf for the reason Don said, plus the occasional quick spray.

Before I got a proper airbrush for clear coating, I would have to say that the rattle can gloss provided a more reliable finish, as well.

Good, reliable product that I've trusted for decades.

I've never used it and wonder why you're asking. It works fine when airbrushed so why mess with success? The spray can is far more expensive and wastes large amounts of it's product.
