Posted by JerB on Thursday, December 31, 2020 9:01 PM

Hi guys

I was thinking of using tamiya olive drab to paint my tanks then was curious about the krylon. has anybody used it before on models?  was thinking about trying it then dullcote the model before moving on to fading with oils.

thanks for the help

I used to use it a lot, especially their sandable primer.  I still use some of their colored paints.  It is okay to use on plastic.  I generally prime, so don't know if their recent formulas have changed compatibility though.  Krylon changes their formulas frequently.  I would test anything to be sure- cut a piece of sprue and paint it with that paint before using on good model parts.

I hate Krylon paints. They're pure gabage. They're fine with other household purposes. But for model kits? Terrible.
