Mustang Joe introduced me to the Novus system some years back.

Wonderful stuff.

GM I use either an old cotton t shirt and or Qtips and only use Novus#2 to polish out for example the dreaded seam line along the center of the F14 canopy . Angry

I sand it off using several grit sticks then hit it with the Novus and after 30 ish minutes it’s crystal clear.

I rather polish the inside and outside of the canopy with Novus.

This doesn't address the question at all - but thanks, I guess.

GM gave you the best method to remove Future. My post was simply a suggestion on a different way to improve clarity in canopies.

Better man than me. I curl up in a fetal position and cry.

But seriously, the Novus product 1-2-3 will almost always restore an accurate finish to a scratched canopy over the length of a baseball game on the screen.

Boris, as you probably know: Future/ Pledge is an acrylic floor finish product, something janitors use.

When it builds up on a floor, the maintenace folks splash something on it like Windex which is an ammonia based product, hard mop it all off and start over.

As an aside; any time you use Pledge over paint, and then weather wash over that, and f uck up: ammonia will erase all sins.

Just to add my 2 cents, I like to tear the paper towel and use the torn edge for wicking, it wicks better.

I'm with GMorrison 100%, everything he said. Same as I'd do.

Sure. After you dip the thing, holding it with tweezers by a corner of the frame- touch the bottom corner to a piece of paper towel a few times to "wick" off the drop of Future thats formed there. Then set it on a clean piece of paper.

Windex (ammonia). This is also useful if/when the framing paint job gets screwed up and you need to start over.

Thanks!  A lot!!

Future (Pledge Floor Gloss) - how to remove it from a canopy?

This was my first attempt at dipping a canopy in Future, and I touched it too early now it's marred.  I want to remove the Future and then re-dip the part.   What do I need to use to strip the Floor Polish but not harm the plastic canopy?
