Hi all,
I've used Tamiya TS-13 Spray clear on various finishes and over decals with no problems but on this car model where I had airbrushed Tamiya X-1 Gloss Black Acrylic on certain areas of the car body over the main base color of Tamiya Lacquer spray Champagne Gold, when I sprayed two coats of the TS-13 clear, the black areas started "dissolving" so I could see the Gold coming through in some areas of the black.
Has this happened to you? I've been very lucky using Tamiya Clear spray on various paint surfaces especially when I spray light coats. Maybe I sprayed my second coat too heavy? I know lacquer usually "melts" the paint layer directly under it but maybe I should stay away from spraying lacquers over acrylic even when the acrylic has dried for 2 weeks and even when the coats are light?
Now I'm not sure how to fix these black areas without remasking everything and re-spraying the black? Hand brushing would probably ruin the finish....
Thanks
