You might contact Coast Airbrush in California. Good people and Certified Iwata dealer.

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the pricing/time I could be expecting by sending my airbrush in to be serviced. Their website doesn't offer much in the way of information.

Check with your retailer first, there may be a mainland service centre. I'm guessing sending it to Japan would be lengthy & pricey.

Don't know about the US, but in the UK Iwata have a 5 year warranty, or 10 years if registered with the importer, airbrushes.com.

Warranty doesn't include err.... user error, such as dropping it on the tip! Embarrassed

They also offer services from a checkup to a full stripdown & rebuild, £19-£36 ($26-$49) plus postage & parts.

I've had my Iwata HP-CS 13-14 years now...

somewhat related, but how does the Neo compare to the HPC+? I'm thinking of getting one as a stopgap while I wait to either have my HPC+ repaired or try and fix it myself.

It's good to have a backup, the Neo would do well in that function I think. Keep you painting and you might even find a seconday use for it. Some guys have just a Neo and love it. And at least your air connect would be the same thread........

If you haven't already, have a look at "Don Wheeler's airbrush tips" website. He offers detailed info about airbrushes, to include maintenance items. If you e-mail him with a question he'll answer, a very helpful man with knowledge about airbrushes in general.

Doing it yourself will surely save quite a lot, and it's enjoyable to get to know your AB well, so you can care for it properly over the long term. Otherwise, Don might be able to steer you to a good place for repairs.

Good luck with it.

It's an HPC-Plus that I know at least needs a new valve and new needle seals, very possibly needs something else as well.

thanks
