Hello!

There's one more thing you might want to try... Sometimes plastic yoghurt boxes come with a lid made from aluminum foil that is not flat or smooth, but one that has very fine "dimples" so to say. If you paint this clear orange, then cut out the right shape, you're going to get very fine reflectors - this also works with other colours including white (just clearcoat the foil). To make this comment different from the ones TB usually writes here's a picture to validate this method:

Hope this helps - good luck and have a nice day

You should be OK clearcoating after you get your side markers painted.  Use the finest Molotow chrome pen you can get and just touch the pen in the recesses.  You don't want to do any sweeping or scrubbing action with the pen because its going to temporarily loosen the paint underneath.  Just touch it on and let it dry, then put on your clear orange (again, just tap it, don't "brush").  After that, you can put on your overall clearcoat if you want to.

I would recommend silver under the orange area rather than clear.

I concur.

Silver paint or Molotow Liquid Chrome pen.

Side reflectors - 71 Hemi Cuda

I am in the home stretch with my first model, the '71 Hemi Cuda. I painted the car Plum Crazy Purple and haven't clearcoated yet. I need to paint the side reflectors orange, and I have some Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange for the job. When I sprayed the purple I did not mask the reflectors, and I don't think the clear orange is gonna show very well on top of the purple. I am also not sure if I should clearcoat before or after painting the reflectors.

I am thinking maybe I could try brushing on some white or silver before the clear orange, but again not sure how that will look over purple.
