MM #1960 Flat Lacquer is apparently gone for good

Testors rebranded this as  auto lacquer and I was still able to get this. No more.  This is not the enamel version which is not the same thing. I really don't know what I'm going to do, as this was my weathering sealer over enamels for the last 30 years.  In the 3 oz rattle cans.

I would buy a case if I could find it. Any ideas?

Nothing stays forever

I like the Alclad clears, their flat is Lacquer based,in gloss they have a water based and Lacquer.

Is the MM any different from Testors Dullcote?  I would think both being lacquers and made by the same company they would be the same. Dullcote spray can was my go-to standard for decades but since I started airbrushing Tamiya paints I switched to Tamiya XF86 flat clear. No more fumes, no more spatter, and easy cleanup with IPA. In fact, I now have two airbrushes dedicated to Tamiya & Stynylrez and one cheapo airbrush for everything else.

Testors makes 2 dullcote's.  Enamel, and lacquer.  The #1960 lacquer is the same as MM. The enamel version is not the same thing.

I just lucked out and got 5 cans of Testors lacquer from Scale.  The lacquer dries very fast and resists oil washes.  I prefer this method.  Going forward with enamels disappearing, this won't matter as much, but I have a few models to finish needing the lacquer flat overcoat.

I have found both flat and gloss lacquers at my local Menards- forget the brand, however.  Big spray can at about the same price as Testors little cans.

I still prefer Glosscoat and Dullcoat for their fine spray, but if I am quick and careful this non-modeler stuff is okay.
